Developmental Opportunities

All MOF officers are valued and we help all officers to grow and develop to their fullest potential. New officers will attend the MOF Foundation course to induct them into the MOF culture in a more holistic and systematic manner. Through this MOF Foundation course, officers get to learn core competencies that will help them do their work better. For example, service quality, writing, project management and presentation skills. The Foundation Course is also a good opportunity for our officers across the different Directorates to build camaraderie.

There are also ample training and development opportunities for officers to develop both professionally and personally. Training opportunities take in the form of on-the-job training, structured courses at Civil Service College (CSC) or any other institutions, conferences or seminars. We also offer our officers the option to rotate portfolios every 3 years such as secondment or attachment opportunities to gain exposure and to widen one’s career experience.

We also offer MOF Scholarship and MOF Training Award for in-service staff. The selected officers are given the opportunity to further their studies and enhance their professional skills through MOF’s sponsorship of programmes and courses, i.e. general management courses (e.g. MBA), professional masters or executive development programmes.
